Labor of Love

Well, its the long grind to get into the higher level content. Alot of low yield, but necessary work today. For example, I'm working on one of my low-high level areas called "Ruins of Al Hassad". Its a pretty vast area with a lot of homes in it, which means a lot of doors.

One of my goals is to make sure that every door leads to something. So I have created a home to match up with each door. Needless to say in one area there are 30 doors. This means 30 external doors + 30 internal doors. Inside each house is two levels, so that makes for 60 more doors. A total of 120 doors needing to be linked. A massive time sink for something that most players will be pleased to see (everyone likes to see a door lead to something), but not everyone cares about after the novelty has lifted.

But that's just the way it is. So I'll spend roughly 20 hours linking doors and creating zones just for the sake of adding depth. This wont contribute directly to any quests or "content" but it will add to improving the quality and quantity of the module.

Thats just the way it is. Back to the grind.

Update: make that something more around 5 x 32 = 320 doors. So far... probably even more. All for the save of fun. :-)
